FAQ’s
What services does Eden Hills Land Management provide?
We specialize in land clearing, pond construction, and habitat improvement. That includes invasive species removal, understory thinning, forest and pasture clearing, food plot installation, pond design and excavation, and targeted habitat work to improve wildlife and ecological function.
Are you a veteran-owned and faith-based company?
Yes. Eden Hills is veteran-owned and owner-operated, and our Christian faith shapes how we work: with integrity, stewardship, and respect for landowners and Creation. We serve all clients professionally and respectfully.
How are projects priced?
Every project is unique. Prices are based on scope, acreage, vegetation type, access, soils and drainage, desired finish, and any permitting or mitigation required. Most projects begin around $2,000. A free, in-person estimate is required for an accurate price.
Do you provide free estimates?
Yes. Free, in-person estimates are required so we can evaluate site conditions, access, soils, and your goals. A site visit allows us to give an honest, accurate proposal and scope of work.
What does the estimate process look like?
You contact us to schedule a site visit.
We walk the property, discuss goals, and assess conditions.
We prepare a written proposal outlining scope, timeline, required permits, and payment terms.
Once you approve, we schedule the work.
How long will the work take?
Timelines depend on scope and weather. Small clearing jobs can often be completed in a day or two. Typical pond construction and larger clearing projects may take several days to several weeks. We’ll give a realistic timeline in your proposal and communicate promptly if conditions change.
What equipment and crew do you use?
We are an owner-operated earthmoving and land management business that uses specialized equipment for efficiency and precision. Our fleet and rentals typically include dozers, compact track loaders, excavators, and compactors to match the needs of each project.
Do you handle ponds — design, excavation, and compaction?
Yes. We design and build ponds, handle excavation and spoil placement, and manage compaction and finish grading as required. We’ll evaluate soils, required excavation, and outlet/overflow design during the site visit and provide a detailed plan and cost estimate.
Do you do habitat improvement and wildlife work?
Absolutely. We design and implement habitat improvements—native seeding, food plots, brush management, early successional habitat, and targeted tree and shrub work—using wildlife-sound principles. Where helpful, we align work with NRCS practices and conservation best practices to improve wildlife value and ecological function.
Do you perform forestry mulching?
Yes. Forestry mulching is one of the tools we use when it’s the right fit. We employ the method appropriate to the site and goals—whether mulching, mechanized clearing, selective cutting, or a combination.
Will you handle permits and regulations?
We identify permitting needs as part of the estimate and will help coordinate permitting or advise you on the process. In many cases we can manage permitting coordination, but responsibility for permits varies by project and location and will be clarified in your proposal.
How do you protect soil, water, and wildlife during work?
Stewardship is central to our work. We plan projects to minimize erosion and disturbance, protect sensitive areas, and preserve valuable habitat when possible. We use appropriate erosion control measures, limit disturbance corridors, and follow best practices for water and soil conservation.
Are you insured and licensed?
Yes. We carry appropriate insurance for land management and earthmoving operations. Licensing and insurance details are included in project proposals and available on request.
What should I do before you arrive for an estimate or project?
For estimates: provide basic property information (approximate acreage, access, goals, and any existing site plans), and mark any utilities or known hazards. Before construction: call local utility locating services (811 in the U.S.) to mark underground lines, remove vehicles or fragile items from the work area, and ensure access for equipment. We’ll give you specific prep steps during scheduling.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance after a project?
Yes. We offer follow-up visits and maintenance plans tailored to the project—seeding follow-up, invasive species monitoring, and periodic brush control. Maintenance can be included in proposals or scheduled as separate work.
Can you provide references or examples of past work?
Yes. We’re happy to share project examples, references, and photos on request so you can see our work and hear directly from satisfied landowners.
How do I get started?
Contact us to schedule a free, in-person estimate. Most projects start around $2,000; we require an on-site visit to produce an accurate proposal. We’ll walk your property, discuss goals, and provide a clear, written plan and price.
